When I joined TCW in 2020, social media was not allowed at the firm. Marketing content was delayed by a lengthy compliance review process causing most insights to be retrospective rather than focused on the present or foreseeable future.

Observing this frustrating lag, I partnered with compliance, investment and sales teams to bridge the understanding of macro marketing content and build out their social media presence. This involved a slow roll-out of new content for sales to utilize, and in May 2023 we launched a podcast that was scripted, recorded, reviewed and published with same-day turnaround.

The podcast series successfully allowed investment and sales teams to share timely ideas, generate evergreen marketing content and boost recruitment efforts. The launch of the podcast combined with my “Social Media Jump Start” campaign effectively doubled our social users.

In 2024, we worked with sales and IT to refine content strategies across social and email marketing and doubled podcast subscribers. By 2025, we built out a spokesperson strategy for four key corporate leaders and continued to branch out the strategy globally.
